Fotografiska New York, the new destination for photography and culture in the Flatiron District of New York City, will open later this week with five photography exhibitions.

Located at 281 Park Avenue South, the six-floor, 4181-m2 (45,000-sf) historic landmark building will be home to Fotografiska New York’s multiconcept venue, featuring three floors of exhibition space as well as a soon-to-be opened restaurant and bar operated by the award-winning STARR Restaurants and designed by Roman and Williams Buildings and Interiors.

Architecture and interior design firm CetraRuddy led the design and renovation of the historic property. Higgins Quasebarth & Partners consulted on the preservation and restoration elements of the edifice, such as the stained glass windows on the second floor and the intricate limestone and granite façade.

Founded in 2010 in Stockholm, Fotografiska combines art, culturally eclectic event programming, dining experiences, and curated retail.
