Wills was recognized for “his long and illustrious career in the steel industry, including his work on codes and standards and construction market activities.”
The award was presented by AISC president, Charles Carter, SE, PE, Ph.D., and AISC board of directors’ chairman, Steve Knitter—also the president of Geiger and Peters, Inc.—during NASCC: The Steel Conference, an annual event hosted by AISC that brings together thousands of professionals, academics, and students involved in the design and construction of steel buildings and bridges.
“We congratulate Robert on being presented with this prestigious award recognizing his career accomplishments over more than 30 years with the American steel industry,” says AISI president and CEO Kevin Dempsey. “Robert has worked tirelessly over the years to build strong partnerships with respected organizations like AISC to advance innovative steel solutions and keep steel competitive in the commercial buildings, residential construction, and transportation/infrastructure markets. We are pleased to see his commitment and hard work recognized in this way.”
