HomeRise at Mission Bay, Calif. is a garden-focused community that provides supportive and stable housing for 140 adults that are progressing into housing stability. The project demonstrates the city’s and non-profit partners’ commitment to investing in a community based on social, financial and environmental resilience, equity, sustainability, and integration.

Designed by Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects, it is a collaborative project between architects Lowney Architecture and Y.A. Studio; and is developed by HomeRise and BRIDGE Housing. The 8,596 m2 (92,535 sf), four-story project is complete with 24-hour reception, indoor and outdoor tenant community spaces, and onsite services to support residents.

Some of the integrated sustainable design strategies include energy efficient exterior walls, foundations, roof, windows and doors, enhanced air quality ventilation systems, a rooftop solar renewable energy canopy, solar battery backup, and recycled water infrastructure, as well as engineered walks and ramps.

As a result of the project’s wide range of sustainable design measures, it is also GreenPoint certified with a Platinum rating.
