As its sixth annual conference approaches, the Conference Planning Team of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) has issued a call for presentations supporting the event’s central themes of ‘sustain, strengthen, and secure.’ Building Innovation 2018 will take place January 8 to 11 at Washington, D.C.’s Mandarin Oriental.
The goal is to build a varied and informative portfolio of presentations, featuring insights, case studies, best practices, and other advice from professionals in many parts of the industry. (Promotional material will not be considered.)
If interested in presenting, design/construction professionals should submit the following by June 16:
- a 200-word abstract;
- a 150-word biography;
- four learning objectives; and
- five key words describing the presentation.
Presentations will run for 90 minutes, either as two-person sessions or three-person panels. However, they should be planned for 20- to 30-minute timespans, plus an allotment of 10 to 15 minutes for a Q&A period. Entrants can submit individually or for multiple people, although NIBS reserves the right to organize panels as needed.
Presenters will receive free registration for the day they speak, or a discount on full registration. Those selected must submit final PowerPoints and high-resolution headshots by October 6.
