The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) adopted a statement establishing its position on using artificial intelligence (AI) in architectural practice and its impact on regulation.

Advancements in AI and computational design are providing architects with new labor-saving tools and transforming many of the tasks associated with project delivery.

At NCARB’s June 2024 Annual Business Meeting (ABM), 150 licensing board members from around the country participated in a workshop on AI and regulation.

Although opinions were divided, a consensus was reached on some topics:
