Rob Haddock, a CSI member and the head of both Metal Roof Advisory Group Ltd. and S-5! Metal Roof Innovations Ltd., received the Carl G. Cash Award from ASTM International’s Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing.

His “distinguished research contributions, outstanding publications, dedication, and leadership to advancing building envelope technology, and particularly the performance of metal roofing systems” was cited as the criteria. Haddock has also served on ASTM Committee E06 on Performance of Buildings since 1990.

In addition to his two Colorado Springs-based companies (one a consultancy and the other a metal roof attachment manufacturer), Haddock is an adjunct faculty member in the School of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, holds more than 30 domestic and international patents, and is a member of various groups including American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA), and National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). He is also a lifetime honorary executive member of the Metal Construction Association (MCA), which presented him with the 2015 Larry Swaney Award earlier this year for “unselfish contributions toward the advancement of the metal construction industry.”

Haddock wrote about metallic coatings for carbon steel in the February 2010 issue of The Construction Specifier.
