Atlanta hosts inaugural BuiltTech conference

Atlanta plays host to the first BuiltTech week from October 2 to 6.

Technology conference organizers SuperNova South, along with Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) at Georgia Tech, venture capital (VC) firm Shadow Ventures, and Metro Atlanta Chamber, is organizing the first annual BuiltTech Week from October 2 to 6 in Atlanta.

More than 2500 technology experts and architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals are expected to attend. From panel discussions to presentations and workshops, more than 15 events will be held across the city. Participants will have access to founders, venture capitalists (VCs), and startups. Speakers and panelists from engineering companies Thornton Tomasetti and AECOM, software designer AutoDesk, Georgia Tech, investment firm The Combine, and WeWork will headline the conference. Topics include:

  • “Accelerating the Project Life Cycle with Building Information Modeling (BIM) Software;”
  • “The Construction Industry’s Love for Drones;”
  • “Corporate Innovation: How BuiltTech is Transforming the Art of the Possible;”
  • “The Internet of Things (IoT) and its Impact on Design and Construction;”
  • “Building Trust and Transparency in AEC Payments with Blockchain Technology;” and
  • “Vertical/Horizontal Integrate Firms and New Models for Practice.”
