Building enclosure conference coming to Philadelphia

The fifth Building Enclosure Science and Technology Conference (BEST5) is coming to Philadelphia in April.

Early bird registration is open for the fifth Building Enclosure Science and Technology Conference (BEST5), taking place April 15 to 18 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Philadelphia.

The triennial event, presented by the National Institute of Building Sciences’ (NIBS’) Building Enclosure Technology and Environmental Council (BETEC), offers more than 60 presentations under the theme “Looking Back—Moving Forward: Where History Inspires Innovation.” The technical sessions will cover topics such as enclosure construction, sealants and barriers, and building retrofits.

New this year, participants are invited to attend up to three two-hour modules as part of a 16-hour program leading to an ASTM/NIBS Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) certificate.

Modules include:

  • “BECx Core Competencies;”
  • “BECx Control Layers;” and
  • “BECx Field Testing.”
