Chase Tower, the Chicago headquarters of JP Morgan Chase, will undergo a major renovation for emphasis on wellness, health, and collaboration.

Gensler is the lead architect firm on the modernization project. The proposed remodeling—first for the 55-year-old skyscraper in two decades—will incorporate sustainable design to transform the 60-story tower into a modern workplace.

Design plans for Chase Tower will attain the LEED Certification, by including components such as water-efficient plumbing and automated faucets. Other key aspects of the new project include modernized floors with advanced technology and redesigned common areas, restrooms, and conference rooms.

Sustainability will be achieved by using almost 46,451 m2 (500,000 sf) of carbon-neutral carpeting throughout much of the reconstructed office space. In addition, the renovation will utilize construction materials with low-embodied carbon footprints.

First opening in 1969, Chase Tower was originally designed by C.F. Murphy Associates, Perkins and Will, and Stanislaw Z. Gladych.
