A playground project in Liuquan Lake Park, Xiaoting District, Yichang was recently completed by HID Landscape Architecture.

With its varied topography, spatial transitions, and integrated soft and hard surfaces, the playground’s engineered terrain extends seamlessly from the foothills. The ridgeline of the hills has drifted over the site for millions of years, becoming the landscape of the hills in the playground.

The playground features a water drop-shaped foothill ring at a clear space of 4 m (13 ft) higher than the lowest point of the ridge. With this ring, the entire park becomes a 3D space.

Modern playground featuring interconnected rope bridges, climbing areas, and a geometric animal-themed slide, set in a lush park with a lake and greenery in the background.[2]
With its varied topography, spatial transitions, and integrated soft and hard surfaces, the playground’s engineered terrain extends seamlessly from the foothills.

Encircled by the foothills, the design team turned the mythical beast ‘Yu Xiao’ into the site’s theme, making it a unique hill landmark.

With 16 different amusement equipment and unlimited play styles, the park offers residents a place to relax in nature, stimulates children’s creativity, and allows adults to enjoy the fun of the countryside.
