Construction tops out at Phoenix rehabilitation hospital

Construction has topped off at the superstructure of Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, officially reaching the construction midpoint.
The three-story, 4738-m2 (51,000-sf) hospital will include 48 private patient rooms, two therapy gyms with outdoor therapy areas, and other unique amenities. Once complete, the inpatient rehabilitation hospital will care for people with debilitating conditions such as stroke and brain injury, as well as other complex medical, neurological, and orthopedic conditions.
“Our close collaboration with the developer, architect, operator, and local subcontractors has helped construction go quickly and safely. We are excited to see this important hospital take shape,” said Bob Lemke, vice-president of operations for construction management firm and general contractor Adolfson & Peterson Construction[2] (AP).
American Development and Investment (ADI) is the developer and Callaway Architecture[3] serves as the designer. Texas-based Nobis Rehabilitation Partners will manage the hospital operations with specialty-trained physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and hospital support teams.
AP began construction in October 2020, and the hospital will open later this year.
