This year’s educational program includes a top-notch line-up of influential industry speakers. Some of the featured speakers include Joseph Lstiburek, PhD, Paul Doherty, Beth Stroshane, Marc Chavez, Lane Beougher, and Cherise Lakeside, as well as more than 65 other thought leaders and industry experts. Those participating in education at CONSTRUCT can earn over 18 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Building Owners & Managers Institute (BOMI), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC), International Code Council (ICC), and/or National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

New to the educational program this year is the Product Rep University Program. Eric Lussier, manufacturers’ product representative for Precision Athletic Surfaces and co-founder of Let’s Fix Construction, helped develop this new program.

“I understand the important role that we reps have in the built environment. Knowing the phases of the project, who, when, and how to talk to the project players and where to look for important information in the project documents are critical components to becoming a trusted advisor and are all components covered as part of the product rep university,” he said.

CONSTRUCT is also proud to present the annual Emerging Professionals Day Program. This is a unique opportunity for emerging professionals to come together with industry experts to enhance their careers through mentoring, networking, and education. The program was developed by Cherise Lakeside, specifier at LSW Architects and Co-founder of Let’s Fix Construction.

“We are very excited about our education program this year, as we offer a diverse program with speakers from various backgrounds and years of experience, not just your industry veterans, but the up-and-coming game changers as well.” said Jennifer Hughes, senior education manager for CONSTRUCT. “Participants can explore solutions-based topics from roofing to rainscreens, construction contracts to codes, and much, much more.”

Participants are also encouraged to step out of the classroom and participate in one of the technical tours. CONSTRUCT has arranged two informative tours that will offer a behind-the-scenes look at a renovation project and provide history on some of our nation’s most iconic monuments.

Both of the following tours provide CEUs:

  • Technical Tour 1: Behind the Scenes Tour of Washington National Cathedral; and
  • Technical Tour 2: Monuments and Memorials Tour.

Along with the excellent educational program, attendees can explore the exhibit hall on Thursday, October 10, and Friday, October 11. Covering everything from air barriers and fire protection systems to coatings and emerging technologies, the expo will be packed with more than 175 exhibitors. Additionally, the show floor will be filled with activities. Attendees can participate in hands-on workshops, accredited educational sessions, live demonstrations, product presentations, and open forum chat sessions.

One of the most vital aspects of CONSTRUCT is the ability to have face-to-face interactions with thousands of AEC professionals. From social gatherings like the CONSTRUCT Welcome Reception and CSI Night Out party, to the new education networking and coffee talk lounges, there are many ways CONSTRUCT participants can network during the three-day event.

Further, CSI continues to host their annual meetings and events at CONSTRUCT. CSI regional chapters will be able to connect during their annual caucuses, and CSI members are welcome to attend the annual business meeting general session. During the CSI Honors and Awards Ceremony, awards for Outstanding Chapter Commendations, Distinguished Membership, and investiture of new CSI Fellows will take place. CSI will also host their annual CSI Night Out event.

CONSTRUCT is a must-attend event for any industry professional seeking to stay up to date on the latest trends, gain key insights from leading AEC influencers, and share invaluable knowledge with industry peers. CONSTRUCT packs a year’s worth of value into just three days. Discounted registration rates are available until August 8. With a full education package that starts at $420 for CSI members and $460 for non-members, CONSTRUCT is a cost-effective event for any AEC professional. Registration is now open.
