The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is holding its annual meeting and expo in Chicago this fall.
The event, which will take place November 6 to 9, is the largest gathering of students and landscape architects in the world. This year’s theme, ‘Perspectives,’ highlights comprehensive viewpoints that help enable landscape architects to effectively solve complex planning and environmental design issues.
“We are going to have a fantastic meeting in Chicago this year,” said the group’s president K. Richard Zweifel. “The influence of the city’s landscape continues to evolve and grow tremendously, and there is no better way to celebrate the profession than to hold it there.”
The meeting, which expects more than 6000 attendees, features industry experts providing perspectives on a wide-range of subjects—from sustainable design to active living to best practices and new technologies.
“Non-landscape architects and specifiers should not miss this opportunity to network with landscape architects and exhibitors,” said Zweifel. “There will be plenty to explore, including educational sessions, field trips, and thousands of new products, services, technology applications, and design solutions—all under one roof.”
More than 130 education sessions will provide attendees with the opportunity to earn up to 21 professional development hours under the Landscape Architecture (LA) Continuing Education System (CES). Some of the sessions also qualify for continuing education credits with institutes such as the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
