Designs have been revealed for a new citizenM[2] luxury hotel in Chicago, which will be a part of Sterling Bay’s mixed-use development.

The project includes a 47-story tower with 289 residential units, 2323 m2 (25,000 sf) of retail space, and 280 hotel rooms.

CitizenM Chicago Downtown will feature the Netherlands-based hotel company’s signature interiors designed by Amsterdam-based firm Concrete[3], in conjunction with Chicago’s bKL Architecture[4], serving as lead architect of the complex.

Reaching 159 m (523 ft) above ground and with a subterranean, 22-parking-spot garage, the 300 North Michigan project adds a new tower to the world-famous Magnificent Mile neighborhood in Chicago.

“Chicago has always served as one the most important financial, entertainment, business, and cultural capitals in the world, but in the past few years has also become one of its largest tech hubs due to its incredible talent pool,” says Ernest Lee, citizenM’s managing director. “As we continue our brand expansion and increase awareness in the U.S., it was important to us to have a presence in this market.”

CitizenM Chicago Downtown will include 280 guest rooms. The hotel’s interiors will also draw inspiration from the local community, filled with an eclectic mix of contemporary art, photography, and objects by local artists.
