The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) has welcomed Jacques Cattan as its new managing director, quality programs, who will oversee PCI’s programs, including certification activities for precast concrete plants, erectors, and personnel.
Before joining PCI, Cattan was design-build director at F.H. Paschen, a large general contractor, construction manager, and design builder in Chicago. He was responsible for design management activities, virtual design, and building information modeling (BIM) activities. He also was a member of the company’s quality control (QC) committee. Prior to F.H. Paschen, Cattan had two stints with the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), most recently as vice-president, responsible for certification.
Cattan has bachelor of science degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago and the Missouri University of Science and Technology, in Rolla, Missouri. He also has a master of science degree in civil engineering (structural) from IIT.
“We are thrilled to have Jacques join the PCI team,” says PCI president and CEO, Bob Risser, PE. “Jacques brings a wealth of experience as an engineer and managing certification programs in the construction industry and will contribute greatly to the growth of PCI quality activities.”
“I am very excited to join the PCI quality programs family,” says Cattan. “I look forward to using my diverse background in the AEC community, as well as standards development organizations, to contribute to the precast, prestressed concrete body of knowledge.”
Cattan will replace Mike Kesselmayer, who will retire from the position at the end of 2023.
PCI, founded in 1954, is a technical institute for the precast concrete structures and systems industry and serves as custodian of the body of knowledge for the design, fabrication, and construction of precast concrete structures and systems.
