Plans unveiled for new California skyscraper

Plans have been revealed for the Kaiser Permanente Thrive Center[2], a new office building in Oakland, California. The 148,645-m2 (1.6 million-sf) space will be 28-stories tall.

The new offices will include modern, environmentally sustainable, and efficient workspaces with improved access to public transportation.

The current vision for the building design includes:

Over the coming months, healthcare consortium Kaiser Permanente[3] will engage its employees and the Oakland community in the planning and development of the new location, as well as in seeking best uses for public spaces in the building.

The skyscraper is scheduled to break ground in 2020.
