It’s an effective rainscreen system that keeps moisture from entering the wall system through mortar joints, and gaps or cracks in the surface material. And through the edges of wood or fiber cement board. It eliminates trapped moisture that causes mold growth and possible structural failure.
Its two-ply backer fabric improves the tensile and compressive strength of the rainscreen – and deflects mortar in stucco or stone veneer applications. Plus, it’s easier and more cost-effective to install than traditional furring strip methods.
