Panic hardware installed on fi re doors, like the one pictured above, must be ‘fi re exit hardware,’ which will not be equipped with mechanical
dogging—the ability to hold the latch retracted. Electric latch retraction may be used to dog fi re exit hardware, as long as the latch projects
automatically upon fi re alarm.
