The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has named 66 North American facilities as winners of its 2022 Accident Prevention Contest, specifically for their low rates of worker safety incidents.
This year, many of Owens Corning’s facilities from all over the U.S. were winners in different categories, along with TAMKO Building Products, LLC, and CertainTeed LLC.
Entrants of the annual contest were judged according to ARMA criteria, derived from the standards set by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This information is gathered through quarterly safety data reports from the past calendar year.
ARMA’s members are invited to participate in the contest by submitting data from their entire company, a specific division, or an individual plant or mill in North America. Winners are honored in four different categories, with a “perfect” score meaning zero safety incidents were recorded.
“We are proud of the commitment ARMA members have to a safe work environment for all employees,” says the association’s executive vice-president, Reed Hitchcock. “These facilities continue to maintain high standards in plant health and safety.”
