Seattle-based architecture firm, LMN Architects, has welcomed Jenn Chen to its partnership, furthering the firm’s commitment to interdisciplinary practice and evolving design approaches.

As the first interior designer to join the partnership, the partner brings a decade of experience in experiential and sustainable interior design.

Her addition underscores LMNs dedication to cross-disciplinary collaboration, fostering dialogue culture and enhancing its capability to address intricate design challenges. With more than eight years at LMN, Chen’s curiosity and commitment to understanding people’s interactions with the built environment have led to innovative, story-driven, and sustainable designs.

The designer’s collaborative approach of working with diverse stakeholders has resulted in projects such as the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University.

Chen’s curiosity has led to research in interior design’s role in lowering embodied carbon in the built environment, which broadened the conversation about low embodied carbon design in the industry. Her search for improved ways of doing things led to implementation of circular design strategies at LMN that drastically lowered embodied carbon on her projects.

Chen’s commitment to sustainability, circular economy, and carbon reduction aligns with her roles as a co-creator of the firm’s Path to Zero Carbon series and a key member of the materials and health applied research team.
