Collaborating to build girls’ futures

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Girls Collaborative (NGC) announced a new partnership, designed to help girls achieve educational goals which will prepare them for future careers in architecture and similar fields. Formed in 2002, the NGC unites organizations across the United States, committed to informing and encouraging girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Architecture billings continue to grow

This year started strong for architecture firms, with the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA’s) Architecture Billings Index (ABI) seeing its highest January score since 2007. The index reflects an increase in design services provided by U.S. architecture firms, with any score above 50 indicating an increase in billings.

AIA awards excellence in architecture

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) announced the winners of this year’s Institute Honor Awards, recognizing projects exemplifying excellence in architecture, interior architecture, and urban design. Selected from 500 submissions, the 17 recipients will be honored at the AIA Conference on Architecture 2018 in New York City from June 21 to 23.
