Architecture billings dipped toward end of 2015

The American Institute of Architecture (AIA) reported its Architecture Billings Index (ABI) November score was 49.3—a slight decline from 53.1 the previous month. ABI is an economic indicator of construction activity reflecting the approximate nine to 12-month lead time between architecture billings and construction spending.

AIA creates commission to advance diversity

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has created the Equity in Architecture Commission in order to investigate diversity and inclusion within the profession. The 20-member group will assess recent data, set up action plans, and report the results to AIA’s board of directors by the end of 2016.
