ARMA seeks top asphalt roofing projects

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) is searching for North American asphalt roofing projects for its 2016 Quality Asphalt Roofing Case Study (QARC) Awards. Both commercial and residential projects are being accepted. The competition is open to architects, specifiers, contractors, and consultants working with asphalt products.

Graham Foundation announces architectural grantees

August 24, 2015

The Graham Foundation is awarding $496,500 to 49 architectural projects from around the world. The funded projects include museum retrospectives, multimedia installations, site-specific commissions, documentary films, placemaking initiatives, e-publications, and academic journals. The grantees were selected from a competitive pool of more than 200 submissions from various organizations worldwide.

NCARB adopts alternative certification for foreign architects

Members of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) recently voted to overhaul the current certification process for foreign architects. During NCARB’s 2015 annual meeting, members agreed on discontinuing the Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) program.

Architectural industry thriving, reports NCARB

May 26, 2015

The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) says more than 37,000 candidates are seeking architectural licenses. It reported a record-high number of 37,178 aspiring architects submitted experience hours through the Intern Development Program (IDP) or were actively testing for the Architecture Registration Examination (ARE) in 2014.
