$9.6B-worth projects delayed or canceled due to pandemic

According to a report by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), infrastructure projects of more than $9.6 billion have been delayed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While many projects continue as transportation construction is deemed essential, state and local governments and transportation authorities are beginning to feel the strain of declining revenues related to user fees and the overall slowdown in economic activity, ARTBA said.

Ohio wastewater treatment plant wins Envision Silver for sustainable infrastructure

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Greater Cleveland area, Ohio, is the recent recipient of the Envision Silver award for sustainable infrastructure. It is the oldest infrastructure project to win an Envision award. In 2014, the plant authorities opened a renewable energy facility (REF), which was a key driver to pursuing Envision verification.
