Honoring top slag cement projects

The Slag Cement Association (SCA) presented its 2017 Project of the Year Awards at the American Concrete Institution (ACI) Convention in Salt Lake City. A total of nine projects were honored for outstanding use of slag cement across six categories: Durability, Architectural, Sustainability, Green Design, High Performance, and Innovative Application.

Ohio wastewater treatment plant wins Envision Silver for sustainable infrastructure

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Greater Cleveland area, Ohio, is the recent recipient of the Envision Silver award for sustainable infrastructure. It is the oldest infrastructure project to win an Envision award. In 2014, the plant authorities opened a renewable energy facility (REF), which was a key driver to pursuing Envision verification.
