New York Islanders get a new home

The UBS Arena at Belmont Park, Elmont, New York, is set to be a premier entertainment and sports venue and future home of the New York Islanders when it opens for the 2021-22 National Hockey League (NHL) season. The arena is part of the Belmont Redevelopment Project that will turn 17 ha (43 acre) of underutilized parking lots into a hospitality destination.

The ornate façade, designed by LS3P in Charlotte, showcases concrete pillars and a prominent exterior glazed with neutral-reflective, low‑emissivity (low-e) glass, which helped it achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
