Earlier this year, Nithya Caleb, the editor of The Construction Specifier[1], sat down with the magazine’s editorial advisor Ivette Bruns, CSI, CCS, senior associate with RATIO Architects[2], on the sidelines of CONSTRUCT[3], an AEC education program and expo. Here is an extract from the conversation, where Ivette explains how the specifier is now viewed as a technical resource person with the ability to provide assistance on building material selection rather than the compiler of project specs.
