Nithya Caleb, the editor of The Construction Specifier, interviewed independent specifications consultant and the magazine’s former editorial advisory board member Vivian E. Volz, RA, CSI, CCCS, AIA, LEED AP, at CONSTRUCT, an AEC education program and expo. Volz elaborated on delegated design, design assist, and how they affect the building design process. They also discussed the roles and responsibilities of the various stakeholders on projects, and the need for clear communication between all team members. Here is an extract from the interview.
