Updated technical report on dowel equations

The American Wood Council (AWC) has revised its Technical Report (TR) 12, General Dowel Equations for Calculating Lateral Connection Values. Changes to the report include more options for connecting wood members and information on using stainless steel, aluminum fasteners, and connectors. This report allows designers to determine the effects of member thickness, member strength, fastener size, and fastener strength on lateral connection values for the majority of connections found in wood construction. It also allows the analysis of gaps between members, fasteners through hollow members, and inputs for design of wood connections using stainless steel and aluminum parts and fasteners. This free report can be downloaded online[1].
