Located in a Philadelphia suburb, clad in Roman brickwork and limestone, luxury retail firm Alexander Zilberman Architecture (AZA) recently completed construction on a freestanding flagship store for watches.
The building features large window openings chiseled from masonry facades, with lintels and zipper-stone patterns, and is topped by a champagne-hued metal roof. A standout feature is the custom Roman brick masonry over a base of split-face limestone.
A double-height, glass-enclosed atrium welcomes customers through to the gallery and circulation zone, as well as boutique pavilions for the watchmakers. The interior design includes elements of marble, bronze, metal mesh, and wood.
The 836-m2 (9,000-sf) building is a new headquarter and showroom space for Rolex, Cartier, Tudor, and Omega—spanning two floors, connected by a floating staircase.
The building’s ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on July 18.
