Construction has begun on Saudi Arabia’s first segment of The Line megacity, Hidden Marina. Spanning 32,516 m2 (350,000 sf), the development will comprise three interconnected modules with 80,000 residential units.
Hidden Marina, the first segment of The Line, will be 2.5 km (1.5 miles) and rise 500 m (1,640 ft).
With a built-up area surpassing 21 million m2 (approx. 22 million sf), the scale of Hidden Marina is unprecedented, exceeding global projects such as the Burj Khalifa, which has a built-up area of 350,000 m2 (3.7 million sf).
The project will include housing, 9,000 hotel rooms, retail and commercial spaces, and community infrastructure such as fire stations and schools.
The Line is set to be the centerpiece of the project in northwestern Saudi Arabia, one of 14 giga projects being developed in the country as part of its plan to minimize its economic reliance on oil.
